Softwalk Mariangela - a Great Choice for Sensitive Feet
I recently bought the Softwalk Mariangela sandal because I wanted a slightly dressier sandal with a heel. Normally I love how high heels look but hate how high heels make my feet feel. I chose the Mariangela because it has a 2” heel – high enough to look a little dressier and sexier than a flat sandal but not high enough to hurt my feet.
Over the past month I’ve worn the Mariangela to a variety of places such as work, out to dinner, and for a true test to an afternoon wedding reception. Since this sandal features the leather lined, super cushion Softwalk patented eggcrate footbed, my feet did not hurt after a full day of walking and dancing. Like with most Softwalk shoes and sandals, the arch support is moderate. The straps are super soft nubuck leather with a faux buckle for decoration. The buckle isn’t adjustable but there is hidden goring in the ankle strap which allows the foot to flex while walking. Another feature that I love about this sandal is the toe ring. Besides being super cute, the toe ring keeps me from sliding through when walking; a benefit that provides stability but also potentially stops me from looking like a klutz – an unfortunate occurrence with other sandals that don’t keep my feet from sliding through. The outsole is polyurethane/rubber and has added traction which means no slipping around on the dance floor or on other similar surfaces.
For the most part, Softwalk shoes and sandals do not offer removable footbeds so these are not the sandals for those with custom orthotics. They are ideal for women with sensitive feet like me, or women with bony feet, or fat pad atrophy. These sandals are simply for those looking for a healthier alternative to keep their healthy feet healthy!
