No More Foot Fatigue In Earth Sandals

I recently tried Earth Shoes for the first time. Since I was new to the Negative Heel Technology I was very excited to see if their claims were true. I rated both 4.5 out of 5 stars. 

I have two pairs of Earth sandals that I have rotated between over the past week. I have the Earth Sizzle and the Earth Exer-Fit which is available at HealthyFeetStore.com.

Basic fitting information:

Initially the negative heel (Kalso® Negative Heel Technology®) did take a little getting used to, but not more than one day of wearing. In both pairs the forefoot is nice and wide allowing the toes to relax and the arch is moderate but with enough support for a healthy foot. Both pairs also have the lightweight, form-fitting footbed with BioFoam® cushioning to absorb shock. The hallux ridge is quite pronounced in the Exer-Fit and takes some getting used to if you haven’t worn shoes with a hallux ridge bump before. There’s also an adjustable strap across the midfoot for added adjustability for narrow or swollen feet. This is a cool feature you don’t often find in a flip flop. Overall, Earth sandals are super comfortable with no real noticeable break-in period. I was off and walking happy right away!

Did I get a workout?

I haven’t noticed any muscle soreness while wearing either pair of my Earth sandals but I did have some tightness in my calf muscles after walking around Balboa Park over the weekend. I do workout on a regular basis so this may be different for someone who does not exercise regularly. The two most positive aspects of wearing Earth sandals have been the straighter posture and absence of foot fatigue. I often have some discomfort or lower back pain after walking all day and wearing these seems to realign my pelvis to take the pressure off my lower back. Another thing I noticed that Earth shoes doesn’t mention in their advertising is that their sandals pretty much eliminate foot fatigue. My feet feel noticeably great at the end of the day. When I get home, I don’t take them off the minute I walk through the door. I actually forget they are still on my feet!

My reason for going 4.5 out of 5 is that I don’t agree with the “Skip the Gym” advertising. Cardiovascular work out is so important to your health and overall well being. I don’t see how you can get that from a pair of shoes. However, I do think that wearing these is an excellent compliment to any workout program. Who wouldn’t want to continue fat-burning and working your muscles after leaving the gym and throughout the day!  I plan on giving the Earth Walking Shoe, Ambition a try as well!

    Love Earth! I wear them every day! Like walking on clouds :)

    Although as you said you can’t get a cardiovascular workout in them… i think you can! When you’re just going for a walk you can feel they are working you much harder than in normal shoes as your in a way… walking up hill! So this helps you to get fitter and lose weight!

    It worked for me anyway!
