Dr.’s Remedy Non-Toxic, Antifungal Nail Polish – The Safe, Natural Way to Treat Yellow Nails
As of March 20th Spring is here and your feet are grateful because they’re tired of being trapped in boots and sneakers all day and every day. Spring is the beginning of sandal season when toes finally get to come out and play. For fashionable women this means it’s time to give yourself a pedicure so that your toes will look pretty when they finally greet the sunshine.
For both men and women fashion-conscious and otherwise, it may be time to ask yourself a question you’ve managed to avoid during the winter months: do I have toenail fungus?
If your nails are yellow or discolored and particularly if your nails have become brittle or crumbly, the answer is probably yes.
If you’re a gentleman or a tomboy HealthyFeetStore.com offers plenty of unisex nail fungus treatment products to choose from. We recommend starting with our tineacide complete antifungal kit. It’s our best seller.
For the girlie-girls among you, keep reading. HealthyFeetStore.com just added a brand new antifungal beauty product: Dr.’s Remedy Non-Toxic, Antifungal Nail Polish. Many of our employees have already fallen in love with Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish and we think you’ll love it too!
Antifungal Nail Polish – Because Concealing Toenail Fungus Doesn’t Solve the Problem
Many women find toenail fungus to be unattractive and embarrassing so their first impulse is to cover it up with nail polish. Unless you’re using a nail polish that contains antifungal ingredients and is designed to treat nail fungus, this isn’t a good idea. If you’re wearing nail polish and not treating the nail fungus, the harsh chemicals in the polish will work with the nail fungus to further weaken your nail enamel. Plus, you run the risk of developing athlete’s foot since the same fungus is often to blame for both conditions. If you’re trying to treat the condition with a topical antifungal cream, ordinary nail polish will create a virtually impenetrable barrier, preventing the medicine from doing its job.
While we don’t think you should feel ashamed of having toenail fungus (it’s a disease, not a moral failing), Dr.’s Remedy Antifungal Nail Polish is a healthy way to conceal your fungal nails if you so choose during the nail fungus treatment process. Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish contains tea tree oil and garlic bulb extract, two safe and natural bacterial disinfectants that are proven home remedies for toenail fungus. It is also enriched with vitamin C, vitamin E, and wheat germ; ingredients that actually help strengthen your nail enamel and restore its natural shine.
Non-Toxic Nail Polish – What It Means & Why It Matters
In order to understand what we mean when we say Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish is non-toxic you need to know a little bit about the ingredients in ordinary nail polish. Almost all of the name-brand nail polish you find on department store and drugstore shelves contains what the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has dubbed the “toxic trio.” The toxic trio is formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP (dibutylphthalate).
Formaldehyde has been identified as a probable human carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In laymen’s terms that means it probably causes cancer. It also causes allergic reactions such as watery eyes, burning in the back of the throat, headaches, and labored breathing in a relatively high percentage of the population.
Toluene can cause eye irritation, headaches, dizziness, and nausea. Laboratory studies have also linked toluene to a higher incidence of birth defects which is why it is very important that pregnant women use either non-toxic nail polish or none at all. Toluene has been restricted in drinking water in the United States because it has been linked to kidney and liver damage.
DBP exposure has also been linked to birth defects, as well as fertility problems. A recent study connecting DBP and other phthalates to early onset puberty in girls and hindered testes development in boys prompted Congress to ban the use of these chemicals in toys. DBP has not yet been banned from cosmetics marketed to little girls and pre-teens.
One of the reasons we’re so fond of Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish is that whether you’re a pregnant woman, a mother letting her daughter experiment with using mommy’s makeup, or just a woman who would like to paint her nails without having to worry about increasing her risk of contracting breast cancer; you can use this product and it won’t make you sick. In fact, it has ingredients that are actually good for you. Plus, it stays on your nails without chipping as long or longer than ordinary nail polish. What’s not to like? We hope you’ll try some.
