This week we’ll be hearing from Marty and Richard Backer, the co-owner’s of HealthyFeetStore.com and Podiatrist Jeff Hurless’ in-laws.

1. Naot Women’s Toe Loop Sandal, Jessica – I took these sandals to Greece in the summer of 2007. I wore them through rocky ruins on days when the temperature climbed to 100 degrees and my feet were comfortable and secure. They are excellent walking and traveling shoes with terrific foot and arch support. Another plus is that they are lightweight and don’t occupy much space or weight in my luggage which is plus when traveling abroad. I now wear them everywhere with skirts, pants, shorts and cropped pants.
2. Naot Women’s Boot, Allure – These boots are stylish, very comfortable and they have fantastic arch support. I have a slight pronation (rolling in of the foot) problem so finding comfortable boots has always been a challenge. With the Naot Allure I can be on my feet all day and never have foot pain or discomfort because the boot holds my foot and body in the correct natural position. The heel is 2 ½ inches high which is just enough to look stylish but not high enough to be uncomfortable.
3. Dr.’s Remedy Nail Polish – Recently we discovered Dr. Remedy’s Nail Polish, a healthy non-toxic nail polish developed by two doctors for one of their wives during pregnancy. The polish dries to a nice hard finish, has a great shine, and lasts as long as commercial polishes containing harsh chemicals. There is also a nice selection of colors. I feel good wearing this polish because it is enriched, antifungal, non-toxic, and free of harmful chemicals. It is enriched with enamel strengthening vitamins and antifungal and anti-bacterial ingredients like tea tree oil and garlic bulb extract to naturally and effectively prevent and treat nail fungus.

1. Brooks Men’s Motion Control Running Shoe, Beast – My favorite product is the Brooks Men’s Running Shoe, Beast. As a long time runner I always favored New Balance products, but as I got older and the knees and ankles started to creak and sway, my footwear needs changed. After I developed a problem with pronation (big word but it hurts your feet), I found myself needing to wear a more supportive shoe to get the same level of comfort when I exercised. I’m into more power walking now and find the Beast offers stability, balance and comfort.
2. Powerstep Full-length Arch Support – The Brooks Beast has removable insoles so I was able to put in a Powerstep arch supports. My knees, feet, and ankles have never felt better. I hate sounding like a commercial but it’s all true.
