Brooks Glycerin 8 Running Shoes Helped me Walk for MS
About 5 years ago my wife’s best friend was unfortunately diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and since then my wife and I have helped raise over five thousand dollars in donations through the MS Walk. Luckily, we have many friends and acquaintances that have helped us along the way; and it seems that just about every year we always meet new people that are willing to lend us a hand in any which way they can, whether to raise money, offer support or to simply just join us on the day of the walk. This year I was very fortunate to receive help from Brooks Sports Inc., a true leader in running footwear design and one of the most popular brands we carry at HealthyFeetStore.com. With the help of our Brooks representative, I was able to try out the new Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoes during this year’s MS Walk.
I didn’t really know what to expect when I first received my new pair of Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoes. Upon opening the shoe box, I was very impressed with the sporty look of its upper. Its contrasting sharp lines coupled with its tribal-like detailing really add to its eye catching appeal. You’ve got to hand to Brooks, they really know how to combine mesh, microfiber and synthetics to create really attractive uppers. At this point I got really excited and was ecstatic after I tried them on and took my first steps. I’ll admit, I usually wear shoes of a different brand – let’s just say that it’s one of Brooks’ primary competitors, and I’m pretty loyal when it comes to foot comfort and shoe style – two things that I’m used to getting with this particular brand. Well, after trying on my first pair of Brooks shoes I can happily say that I’m a Brooks man now. I couldn’t believe that I was missing out on so much comfort. Brooks, where have you’ve been all of my life!
After my first few steps I thought to myself, WOW, I’m walking on pillows! I never experienced this before in footwear. I couldn’t believe that shoes could feel like this. The Glycerin 8 running shoes come with a slew of features that make this possible, such as Brooks DNA technology: an innovative cushioning material in the midsole, which working with BioMoGo disperses impact from heel strike to toe-off offering the wearer soft comfort and great stability in each step. I immediately felt the cushioning effect the moment I put weight on the shoes, and thus far this has not diminished at all (I’ve been wearing my Glycerin 8 running shoes for a few weeks now during light walks). These running shoes also come with DRB® ACCEL to provide torsional rigidity and Pod Tec technology for optimal balance, cushioning and flexibility. The arch support, overall stability and pronation control is beyond compare – I feel no stress or pressure in the joints or muscles of my lower limbs. During the MS Walk, I decided to run a few times to see if the shoes would lose any of it’s cushioning abilities and I wasn’t surprised that they performed the same whether
I was walking fast or running at a steady pace. In the past, I’ve noticed that the brand of shoes that I typically wear tend to lose their comfortable fit soon after I run in them, so I thought it was awesome that this didn’t happen with the Glycerin 8 running shoes. At the end of the walk, my feet felt the same as they did at the start. I had no pain or foot fatigue at all during or after the MS Walk.
This year, I’m happy to say that our team raised more than a thousand dollars for MS. The walk was a success and because of my Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoes, my feet were taken care of as well. Next year I plan to wear Brooks shoes again and hope that the rest of my team members will do the same. Walking for MS or for any other cause is really a great thing to be a part of and I hope that one day through our efforts we can help prevent this disease from occurring in future generations.
HealthyFeetStore.com will carry the Brooks Glycerin 8 running shoes in early summer so please make sure you check back with us for future promotions.

This is awesome to see the participation in the MS walk. I know lots of people myself that have been affected personally and through friends or family from this crippling disease.
I take place in these events once in a while without walking long distances very often and get blisters and sores all the time. Maybe it’s time for me to try a new pair for my next event. I’ll definitely check these out when I go to get a new pair. I DO have a resolution that’s getting dusty…..
